About Professor Sue Hill
As Head of Profession, the Chief Scientific Officer is the Department's most senior healthcare scientist and leads the 50,000 strong scientific workforce in the NHS and related organisations. She has responsibility for delivering the Government's strategy for a modernised healthcare science workforce and scientific services and for raising the profile of science in health.
About Dr Robert Winter
Robert is a respiratory physician with 20 years experience as a consultant working in Cambridge and in London.He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Cambridge, where he is an Associate Lecturer and is also an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians. Formerly medical director of Addenbrooke’s 2002-2008 and currently a Vice President of the British Lung Foundation, he was appointed OBE for services to medicine and healthcare in the New Year honours, 2009 .
