COPD
Improvement projects are an excellent way of testing innovation on a small scale with a view to determining improved ways of working which can eventually be rolled out across the NHS.
NHS Improvement – Lung is currently working with over 40 NHS organisations across the country on small scale projects in COPD and asthma care to support the implementation of the recommendations in the proposed Strategy for COPD Services. In COPD we have divided the projects into different parts of the clinical pathway as follows:
- Early accurate diagnosis
- Transforming acute care
- Managing COPD as a long term condition
- Improving home oxygen services
- Improving end of life care
For more information on these areas, click on the appropriate link on the right-hand side of the page.
Asthma
For asthma we run one work stream which has projects within which are looking at:
- Diagnosis and medicines management
- Transforming acute care
- Chronic self-management
- Integrated pathway
Calling for examples of good practice
