Nutrition in COPD

The Respiratory Healthcare Professional's Nutritional COPD Guideline has been designed

  • To raise the awareness of nutrition with respiratory health professionals and their COPD patients
  • To provide a simple tool to aid first line nutritional management of this patient group
  • To improve the nutritional status of COPD patients

The Respiratory Healthcare Professional's Nutritional COPD Guidelines were created by a working group sponsored by an educational grant from Nutricia. The multidisciplinary group of COPD and nutritional experts came from the Association of Respiratory Nurse Specialists (ARNS), Education for Health (EFH), and the Respiratory Dietitians Network (affiliated to the UK Heart Health and Thoracic Dietetic Specialist Group). Representation was also made by the Department of Health and Dr Tom Wilkinson Senior Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine at Southampton University School of Medicine.
