Implementing 7 Day working in Imaging Departments: Good Practice Guidance

This document has been prepared by a specially convened sub-group of the National Imaging Clinical Advisory Group (NICAG) to provide advice for commissioners and providers who wish to develop 7 day working in imaging departments. It was commissioned as a result of the growing enthusiasm for 7 day working in healthcare services, both to utilise the resources of the NHS and to offer patients a more customer-focused service.

Training module to reduce the risk of feeding patients via misplaced NG tube

This training module will help you to learn how to minimise the risk of feeding patients through a misplaced nasogastric tube.

It has been developed in collaboration with Mr Robert Law, Consultant GI Radiographer, North Bristol NHS Trust, based upon his team’s award-winning project ‘Improving the practice of nasogastric feeding tube placement’ (National Patient Safety Awards 2011).

This module has been approved for Distance-Learning Credits for the CPD Scheme of the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK.

Approval is for 1 credit. The expiry date for CPD approval is September 2013
