Interventional Radiology
Service Provision Mapping 2011
This is the first publication of the maps of Interventional Radiology Services in England. The maps have been developed from the survey conducted in Spring 2011 by NHS Improvement in partnership with the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR).
Trusts have self assessed their status as Red, Amber or Green based on whether a formal on- call consultant rota and agreed formal pathway of care is in place. The maps are intended to be dynamic and version 1 represents the position of services as at 31st October 2011.
The survey will be conducted again in March 2012 and Trusts who have not responded will be given a further opportunity to participate. We did receive a very high response rate and 100% response from all Trusts involved in Trauma developments. Thank you to all Trusts who have supported this programme.
Visits to all Trauma sites are now being conducted to learn more about how services are developing and NHS Improvement and the BSIR will be publishing further information and case studies when the visit programme is completed in January 2012.
