Audiology Transition Workshop

26th January 2011

Transition Conference

This workshop was held for the audiology pilot sites undertaking work around transition from children’s to adult hearing services. This was the third time the sites had come together to share their learning and experiences and the first time the sites had met since the formal closure of the project. The focus of the workshop was to update on progress of the sites who are continuing to develop their services and an opportunity to learn from other clinical areas that experience similar issues and challenges associated with transition.

Presentations were given by:

  • NHS Diabetes who shared their experience of engaging with young people and commissioning transition services
  • NDCS who gave an update on their “Over to You” project
  • National deaf CAMHS team who spoke about some of the issues that adolescents face and how to reach those who may not want to engage
