My role and my responsibilities in helping to improve my recovery
This patient leaflet has been designed, tested and evaluated by patients for patients in order to give practical step by step advice to anyone prior, during and after surgery. It can be used alongside existing patient information to support key messages and encourage patients to take an active role in their preparation and recovery from surgery.

NHS Improvement has been working with clinical teams across health and social care to find examples of equality of treatment and outcome regardless of the day of the week.
Our case study pages demonstrate where extended working days or weeks have been successfully implemented to ensure that patients are able to readily access both acute, elective and reablement services across primary and secondary care.

NHS Improvement scoop Sunday Times Best Organisations honour
Staff from NHS Improvement are delighted after learning that it was named as one of the Top 100 organisations to work for in the not for profit sector in the UK.
The national service improvement team has been rewarded with a Best Companies’ two-star accreditation indicating that the organisation has demonstrated “outstanding engagement” with its staff.
